Cincinnati commutes, answered
How close can I live to downtown Cincinnati?
Very close, if you want to. Over-the-Rhine is about 4 minutes from downtown, Mt. Adams about 6, and Clifton about 11. Those trade a shorter commute for a smaller, denser home — the suburbs with the top school ratings (Mason, West Chester, Loveland) run 33-37 minutes.
Where should I live for a short drive to CVG airport?
Covington is the closest at about 18 minutes, since it sits in Northern Kentucky between downtown and the airport. Downtown neighborhoods run 22-25 minutes; the far northern and eastern suburbs (Mason, Blue Ash) run 44-56.
Are these drive times rush hour or off-peak?
Typical free-flow drive times from the city-stats geography pack, not worst-case rush hour. Budget extra time on I-71, I-75, and the Brent Spence Bridge corridor at peak. When you have finalists, drive the route at your actual work hours before committing.
What if our household has two different commutes?
Pick a neighborhood that shows up reasonably on both lists — Over-the-Rhine and Clifton are close to downtown and a mid-length drive to CVG; Covington is close to CVG and still a short hop to downtown. Run the tool once per destination and compare.
